Synthesia
Drop in an electronic track. The game builds the level, the stage and the drop around it, and you dodge every hit on the beat.
Bring your own music. Release date to be announced.
Any track in. A level out.
Drop in a track
Any MP3 or WAV: house, techno, drum & bass, trance, ambient, hardstyle. The game listens to it on your device and nothing is uploaded.
It reads the music
Tempo, build-ups and drops are found automatically and turned into obstacles that land on the beat. Every track gets its own stage to match.
Dodge
Move with the keyboard, the mouse or a controller. Hits come on the beat, and when the drop lands, overdrive takes over.
A different world for every track
Slow, dark tracks get the graveyard or the lo-fi room. Hard, fast ones get storms and avalanches. Everything on screen moves with the music.

Graveyard. Zombies rise on the drop and dance in time.

Volcano. A glowing crater over a lava sea.

Orbital. A station window onto a blue planet, with ships passing by.

Ruins. A stone giant that hammers the ground on every beat.

Lofi room. A cat on the desk, a city outside the window.

Deep space. A ringed planet, a blazing star and drifting asteroids.

Storm. Lightning that strikes on the drop.

Cybergrid. A neon grid watching you.

5 Peaks. Snow lets go of the mountains when the drop hits.
What's inside
- 26 stages

- Overdrive on the drop
- Build-ups charge it and drops release it, and the whole stage reacts. A double drop keeps it going.
- Playlists of up to 12 tracks
- Every track is analysed once when you add it, so there is no waiting between levels.
- Controller, keyboard, mouse
- Full gamepad support, menus included, with smooth analog movement.
- Co-op
- Play together on one screen, or online with a friend.
- Easy, Normal and Hard
- The same track plays very differently on each.

Questions
When does it come out?
There is no date yet. The Steam store page comes first, with a wishlist button, and this site will link to it the moment it is live.
Which systems will it run on?
Windows and Linux PCs, through Steam. It plays with a keyboard, a mouse or a controller.
Where does the music come from?
From you. Use MP3 or WAV files you own or have the right to use. SYNTHESIA does not provide or host any music, and you are responsible for the tracks you load.
Is my music uploaded anywhere?
No. Tracks are analysed on your own computer and never leave it. In online co-op, only the game state is exchanged between the two players.
Can I try it before release?
Not publicly yet. If you make videos, stream or write about games, or want to join a playtest, write to contact@synthesia.cc.
